The House of Opulence Cotillion Society™ is a signature formal etiquette and social dance program culminating in seasonal Cotillion Ball. These events celebrate the transformation of young dancers into poised, confident young individuals who are prepared for leadership, social interaction, and elegant public presence.

 

Cotillion programs are offered seasonally and may be expanded into local chapters across Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and beyond. Each chapter will follow a standardized training curriculum with localized mentors and etiquette instructors.

The House of Opulence Cotillion Society™ is an elite, transformative program designed to teach young people the art of social grace, confidence, and leadership through hands-on etiquette, formal dance training, and cultural celebration. Hosted by the House of Opulence Dance Company, this 12-week program culminates in a formal Cotillion Ball where participants make their debut in style and distinction.

A cotillion is a time-honored tradition where youth are introduced into society through formal instruction in manners, presentation, and dance. At House of Opulence, we modernize this tradition with flair, cultural pride, and real-life leadership preparation.

This program is more than a dance—it's a rite of passage.

Who Can Join: Students ages 11–18 (6th–12th grade) Open to all genders and backgrounds

Ideal for students interested: In leadership, public speaking, performing arts, dance, pageantry, and service

Where: Miramar, FL (Exact location shared upon enrollment)

When: Fall 2025-2026 Cohort: October 7th – April 9th

Duration: 6 Months | 3 Weekly 90-minute sessions

Final Event: The House of Opulence Cotillion Ball™ – formal debut gala

Criteria For The Program

  • Girls currently enrolled in middle or high school (grade 6-12) in good standing
  • Must attend all program activities
  • Commit to selling 10 Cotillion Ball tickets 
  • Commit to selling 1 full-page ad in Souvenir Program

1. Who can participate in the Cotillion Society?

Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 18, enrolled in middle or high school (grades 6–12). Students of all genders and backgrounds are welcome.


2. Do students need prior dance or etiquette experience?

Not at all! The program is designed for beginners and seasoned students alike. All instruction starts at an introductory level and builds progressively throughout the 12-week course.


3. What is included in the tuition?

The $395 tuition includes:

12 weekly etiquette and dance training sessions

Program materials (handbook, worksheets, coaching tools)

Cotillion Ball admission for the student

Professional event photography

Medallion, certificate, and keepsakes


4. Are there payment plans available?

Yes. We offer:

A 3-month installment plan (3 x $135)

A $195 deposit option with the balance due 30 days before the ball

5. What is the dress code for the Cotillion Ball?

Ladies: White or ivory floor-length gown (formal or debutante-style), gloves optional

Gentlemen: Black tuxedo or formal black suit, white shirt, tie or bow tie Detailed wardrobe guidance is included in the enrollment packet.


6. Where will the Cotillion Ball be held?

The Cotillion Ball will be hosted at the Grand Ballroom, Miramar Cultural Center. Full event details will be shared after enrollment.


7. What is required to apply?

To apply, students must:

Complete the online Interest Form

Await confirmation of acceptance before paying tuition


8. Can parents attend the Cotillion Ball?

Absolutely! Parents, guardians, and family members are encouraged to attend and participate in the Parent-Child Waltz.

Guest tickets are $75 per person and include dinner.


9. Are there volunteer opportunities for parents?

Yes! We welcome Parent Liaisons, chaperones, and behind-the-scenes assistants for event coordination, fittings, and rehearsals.

10. What happens if my child can’t attend a session?

Students can miss up to 2 sessions and still be eligible for the Cotillion Ball, as long as they review the materials and attend the final rehearsal.

Make-up opportunities may be available by request.


11. Is this a religious or culturally specific program?

No. The House of Opulence Cotillion Society™ is a non-denominational, inclusive program that honors etiquette, leadership, and tradition through a modern, artistic lens open to all.


12. How can I support or sponsor this program?

We welcome donations of attire, scholarships, and sponsorships from businesses and community leaders. Sponsors receive recognition at the Cotillion Ball and on all printed/digital materials.
